		<description>i think it&#039;s becoming a bit of a me-too trend, with some reaching mass-market status, like twitter and others like tumblr occupying a smaller niche. i dont know how well these people will do, but as they say.. more the merrier :-D</description>

Actually -- your shared links and bookmarks form your &#039;stream&#039;. Those are joined with others you follow to create a &#039;river&#039;. Your stream is just your links - your river is your links plus those of the people you follow.
